About Us

Social Enterprise Striving for Equality in Sports-Medicine

We believe that clinical care only makes up one slice of the pie when it comes to recovery. Therefore, we provide a gender-informed, holistic approach which traverses all aspects of an athlete's life. Our mission is to make concussion research and support more inclusive, given that 80% of concussion research is focused on men.

Our Story

Joining hands indicating accountability and moving on in your recovery process

Inspired by personal concussion experiences and driven by recent research that suggests women experience more severe, longer-lasting and distinct symptoms than men, we embarked on a mission to change this narrative that leaves women vulnerable to the dangers of sports-related concussions. As master's students at the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Bristol, we recognised the critical need for a gender-informed, holistic and user-centred approach to concussion recovery.

Our extensive qualitative review, collaboration with experts and user research led to the creation of the Concussion Toolkit, a groundbreaking resource that addresses the unique needs of all athletes in concussion recovery. Our toolkit is the first of its kind to integrate both return-to-learn and return-to-play protocols within the same timeframe.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to inclusivity and innovation, striving to fill the gaps in current concussion research and recovery practices. We are dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate their recovery confidently and safely.
